Protect your property with dedicated park home insurance

Park homes offer excellent alternative residences to standard brick-and-mortar properties. Often easier to maintain and with a community of like-minded neighbours around you, there is no wonder that park home ownership is a popular choice!

Due to their unique build, park homes differ in many ways from a standard property, so it’s only right that you consider having dedicated insurance to protect it. Park home insurance considers the specific risks you face with owning a park home such as the park environment, land leasing and their unique design, all of which would not be suitably covered by brick-and-mortar home insurance. That’s why tailored cover is important.

For over 30 years, Lifesure has provided specialist UK park home insurance for park homeowners across the country. Our policies are created in partnership with some of the top insurers and based on customer feedback, to help cover what matters most to you.

Our specialist policy includes valuable features such as legal expenses and 24-hour home emergency as standard, at no additional cost, so you can be protected against common issues. You can also enhance your policy with options like key cover and home excess protection for extra reassurance, but note that these additions will require further costs.

Our experienced and friendly agents are here to help you find the policy that fits your needs, providing guidance every step of the way. Call us on 01480 402 460 to see how we can help protect your home with a personalised park home insurance quote.

Your payment options

Park home insurance should be simple. That’s why we make payments easy with multiple payment options, such as financed instalments by direct debit, debit card, credit card, BACS, or bank transfer. You can also spread the cost to make payment more manageable—we work with Close Brothers Premium Finance to enable you to pay in regular instalments*.

Flexible payment dates, online account management, and credit agreement renewal can make it easier to purchase appropriate protection. *

For more information on a suitable payment option for you, get in touch with a Lifesure specialist today. Call us on 01480 402 460 and we’ll be happy to help.

*We work with a third-party company called Close Brothers Premium Finance Limited (‘CBL’), which manages instalment payments. We act as a credit broker, and we are not a lender. If you have opted to pay by monthly direct debit, we will pass your details to CBL and they will make a credit decision about you, which may include a credit check being carried out. Please let us know immediately if you do not consent to us sharing your details with CBL. If CBL agrees to provide you with credit you will receive a welcome pack including a credit agreement from CBL, which you will need to sign and return to CBL. Please note that CBL has its own set of terms, conditions and charges and you should familiarise yourself with these carefully. We may receive a commission for introducing you to CBL. Paying by monthly direct debit via CBL will cost more than paying by one off payment.

What is classed as a park home?

A park home (often known as a mobile home) is a prefabricated home located on a residential park site. Park homes are designed for permanent living and offer all the comforts of a traditional home and due to their design, they are sometimes considered easier to manage than brick-and-mortar houses.

Is park home insurance compulsory?

Park home insurance isn’t legally required but it provides valuable protection. Insurance helps cover costs if your home is damaged by fire, storms, theft, or accidents, which could be expensive without cover. Many park homeowners choose insurance for added peace of mind, to help protect their home from unexpected events, just as many choose to take out home insurance for standard houses.

How much should I insure my park home for?

When insuring a park home, consider factors like the home’s age, location and existing condition. Your insurance should cover the cost to replace your home to the same standard in the event of total loss or irreparable damage. Check with your provider to determine the most appropriate level of cover.

Is a park home the same as a mobile home?

Yes, a park home is often called a mobile home. Both terms refer to prefabricated homes for long-term living on park sites. Park homes are stationary properties suitable for year-round permanent living, while mobile homes can also encompass transportable homes.

Is a park home classed as a property?

Yes, a park home is classed as property, but it has some key differences compared to traditional homeownership. Although you own the park home building itself, the land it sits on is usually leased from the park site owner. With brick-and-mortar properties, you usually own both the home and the land.
