We would like to make you aware of changes to our group structure that will come into effect on 25th November 2024 (the “Effective Date”), which will affect our relationship with you.
As a Lifesure customer, you should have received a letter from us explaining the changes, but below we have also answered some frequently asked questions. If you have any further questions, please contact our sales team on 01480 402 460.
Frequently Asked Questions (“FAQs”)
1. Do I have to sign and return the enclosed Initial Disclosure Document (“IDD”)?
No - the enclosed IDD does not require a signature and will take effect automatically the next time you make a change to, or renew your policy on or after the Effective Date.
2. Will there be any changes to my policy documentation?
You will not receive new policy documentation as part of the internal reorganisation. Existing documents, including certificates of insurance and schedules of coverage, will remain valid until such time as you effect a mid-term adjustment, renew the policy or the policy naturally expires.
3. Who do I contact if I need to purchase new insurance, or renew or make a change to my existing insurance policy?
Please continue to contact your usual sales agent both prior to and after the Effective Date. Please note that our correspondence address remains unchanged, please remember to quote your policy number on all correspondence.
4. If I decide to purchase new insurance or I would like to make a change or a mid- term adjustment to my existing policy, will there be any changes to the way that I pay for my premiums?
When you instruct us to renew or carry out a change or mid-term adjustment to an existing policy, your sales agent will provide you with further information about the remittance of your premiums.
5. How do I obtain details about my current insurance policy and/or coverage?
In the first instance we would advise you to contact your usual sales agent. Please refer to question 4 above).
6. Can you transfer my personal data without my consent?
We are permitted to transfer your personal information without your consent. The transfer of business from Lifesure to Gallagher will include the transfer of your personal information and is justifiable as it serves the legitimate interest of Lifesure in facilitating its integration into the Gallagher group. In some cases the transfer of personal information to Gallagher will involve the transfer of "special categories" of data (e.g. sensitive information such as medical data). We are permitted to process personal information falling under a “special category” where there is substantial public interest to do so. Our processing of such information amounts to an “insurance purpose” which in turn satisfies the substantial public interest requirement. In relying on these legal justifications, we have considered your rights and freedoms, and are satisfied that our processing of your personal information, for the outlined purpose, adheres to the rights afforded to us by data protection legislation.
7. What if I do not wish my data to be transferred to Gallagher?
You may request for your data not to be transferred; however we will be unable to continue to service your policy in the event that you do not agree to this.
