Your payment options

We believe in making insurance as straight forward and as easy as possible for our customers. That’s why we have multiple payment options, so you can choose your preference: instalments by direct debit, debit card, credit card, BACS or bank transfer.

Spreading the cost of your insurance can help make the cost more manageable, which is why we work with Close Brothers Premium Finance to enable you to pay in regular instalments*.

Flexible payment dates, online account management and credit agreement renewal can make it easier to have appropriate protection in place.

*We work with a third party company called Close Brothers Premium Finance Limited (‘CBL’), which manages instalment payments. We act as a credit broker and we are not a lender. If you have opted to pay by monthly direct debit, we will pass your details to CBL and they will make a credit decision about you, which may include a credit check being carried out. Please let us know immediately if you do not consent to us sharing your details with CBL. If CBL agrees to provide you with credit you will receive a welcome pack including a credit agreement from CBL, which you will need to sign and return to CBL. Please note that CBL has its own set of terms, conditions and charges and you should familiarise yourself with these carefully. We may receive a commission for introducing you to CBL. Paying by monthly direct debit via CBL will cost more than paying by one off payment.

How does caravan breakdown cover work?

Caravan breakdown cover provides assistance if your touring caravan breaks down during your journey. Here’s how it works:

  1. Breakdown: If your caravan or towing vehicle breaks down, contact the RAC using the number provided in your policy documents.

  2. Expert assistance: An RAC patrol will be dispatched to your location. Their expert technicians carry over 500 tools and parts to resolve most issues at the roadside.

  3. Roadside repairs: If the issue can be fixed on the spot, the RAC will provide up to one hour of labour to get you moving again.

  4. Recovery options: If roadside repairs aren’t possible, the RAC will recover your caravan and towing vehicle to the nearest garage, your onward destination, or your home (within a 20-mile radius).

  5. Additional support: If needed, your policy includes cover for overnight accommodation (up to £150) while your caravan is being repaired.

Does car breakdown cover include caravans?

Not usually. Standard car breakdown cover often excludes caravans or has strict size and weight limits, which can leave you short of protection. Dedicated caravan breakdown cover from Lifesure and the RAC is specifically for touring caravans, providing features like roadside repairs, unlimited callouts, and recovery for larger caravans.

Do I need caravan breakdown cover?

Caravan breakdown cover can be worthwhile for touring caravan owners, offering peace of mind and practical support if your caravan breaks down. Dedicated caravan cover helps to ensure you’re protected with roadside repairs, with recovery and assistance for both your caravan and vehicle.
